What role will the reps undertake?
· The reps will attend community meetings in their area or be responsible for engaging other students when necessary. The Vice-President (Welfare) will ensure they are provided with details of all relevant meetings.
· The reps will meet collectively each month with the Vice-President (Welfare)
· The reps will support the Vice-President (Welfare) in organising community events, activities and campaigns
· The reps will actively engage with students and other residents in their area through door-knocking and attending community events.
· Sign posting students and residents to other services such as local advocacy, the Student Advice Centre etc
What will the reps receive?
The reps will all take part in the KSCV scheme and therefore will receive reviews and a certificate on completion of 50 or 100 hours volunteering. (See Volunteer Role Description for more information)
Training will be provided once reps are recruited and it is proposed it will include the following:
· The council detailing support they can provide
· How to get the most out of meetings
· How to signpost students and other residents to relevant services
· What issues/situations need to be referred on to Kent Union
STAND OUT training will also be offered
