When you registered with the Universty of Kent, you got the option to join Kent Union as a member.

Being a member of Kent Union gives you access to loads of free and subsidised services, and also means that you get the support and representation you deserve whilst studying.

Each academic year, five students are elected by you to take responsibility for the running of Kent Union. These 'Student Officers' take leave during their studies (or directly after) for a year and guide Kent Union to ensure it meets the needs of its students. Each officer also has an individual role in which they support, represent, campaign and organise events for students.

The five full-time officer roles are:

President, Student Activities, Education, Welfare and Sports.

Working alongside the full-time officers Kent Union also has six part-time officers, four liberation officers, a RAG president, six student committee presidentsthree faculty reps and 10 ordinary members who make up Union Council and a vast number of volunteers running sports clubs, societies, welfare groups and much more!

Student Officers work within guidelines established by all students through referenda and their work is overseen by Union Council.

Any student can stand for election to become an Officer. Elections are held every March.
